I wrote this piece a couple of years ago, inspired by my first trips to Taiwan’s numerous mountains and the music of the indigenous tribes, especially in the Taitung area. The piece first appeared on Voco Novo’s album Goza Goza (see further below). The music video was shot in the breathtaking rainforest of Mautu in Xinzhu, Taiwan. Enjoy the view on “山 in the Clouds” !
I composed this short cycle of chamber music back in 2020. It was recorded in Tamsui, Taiwan during a music salon and features Natalie Tsai on violin, Po-Yin Tsai on viola, Ang-Lü on piano and a large group of Taiwanese cicadas in the backround (who obviously weren’t wearing masks) and thus, beautifully complement the sonic environment with their noisy drones.
My acappella composition Mountain in the clouds appears on VOCO NOVO’S album Goza Goza, which won Taiwan’s 2024 Golden Melody Award in the category 'best folk album’.
60 Seconds and a Bottle of Groove is a solo piece for vocals and body percussion which I created and recorded for the Aarhus Acappella Festival, Denmark.
Throwback to the creative Berlin years with the experimental sound comedy duo FUCHS&HAHN and the BeatBox-Choir OHRLABOR.
